When thinking of methods of tracking and multi-dimensional spatial audio recording in film production, you have to consider BT as the preferred method of keeping space and audio in complete harmony. Imagine a five-camera scene, for example, on a movie like James Cameron’s recent Avatar film. In a scene with twenty principal roles at different distances from the camera and audio, BT delivers the moviegoer an experience like none they have ever had. They are transported into the scene as each tracked actor speaks and is recorded, BlackTrax watches the positioning of each character as they move around the scene. Once the film goes to post, the BT data is used to recreate and accentuate distances for voices and characters in relation to how they originally appeared in the scene. The audience gets a heightened experience, made possible by efficiently tracking and controlling the spatial data.
